KETCHUM, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Today was the final day for the Trailing of the Sheep Festival, ending with a parade of sheep swarming the streets.

1500 sheep moved down Main Street on their way to winter pastures as a part of the Big Sheep Parade.

The parade also featured local sheep ranchers, as well as members of the Scottish, Basque, and the Peruvian communities, which played a role in bringing the sheep industry to the Wood River Valley area. This parade wraps up the multi-day Trailing of the Sheep Festival

Executive Director of the Trailing of the Sheep Festival, Laura Musbachdrake said the many events leading up to the parade show the impact of the sheep industry on the area.
