CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Despite a strong first half, SEMO just couldn’t manage a goal Sunday.

The Redhawks fell 1-0 to Eastern Illinois, the Panthers grabbing their fifth conference victory to strengthen their lead atop the OVC Standings.

SEMO outshot the visitors 10-6, with both teams managing 2 shots on target. But with the game still scoreless late in the second half, a bad clearance gave Eastern Illinois’ Alex Tetteh a shot inside the box, one she guided past SEMO keeper Madison Geisler.

After Saturday’s defeat, head coach John Klein spoke, admitting that he thought his side played the better game.
