LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - The Detroit Lions lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 30-17 on Sunday night and things turned ugly after the final kneel down when Lions defensive back Brian Branch hit Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, sparking a shoving match between the two teams.
Dan Campbell called Branch out for his behavior in his opening statement to the media after the game.
"I love Brian Branch, but what he did was inexcusable," Campbell said. "It's not going to be accepted here. It's not what we do. It's not what we're about. I apologized to Coach Reid and the Chiefs and and Schuster. That's not okay."
As for the game itself, the Chiefs scored right before halftime and on the opening possession of the third quarter to turn a four-point deficit into a two-score lead.
