A man who was seeking compensation after he was dramatically arrested by accused killer cop Beaumont Lamarre-Condon has withdrawn his civil suit.

The 37-year-old man, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was arrested by Mr Lamarre-Condon in June 2020 in Paddington in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

Footage circulated online that appeared to show the former constable firing a Taser at the man from a close range during the arrest, after police repeatedly ordered him to get on the ground.

While he and another officer grappled with the man, Mr Lamarre-Condon then fired the Taser at the man while he was on the ground.

The man filed a civil suit against the State of NSW, seeking compensation for the way in which he was arrested.
