PALAKKAD: DYFI Shoranur block secretary Rakesh Shoranur, the main accused in the case where a DYFI worker was brutally attacked in Vaniyamkulam in Ottapalam, has surrendered before the police. Rakesh surrendered at the Shoranur DySP's office earlier today. DYFI former area secretary Vinesh, who was seriously injured in the attack by DYFI workers, is still undergoing treatment. According to sources, his condition is improving.

Earlier, three DYFI leaders from Shoranur- Surjith, Harris and Kiran- had been arrested in connection with the case. The police said the attack was carried out on the instructions of Rakesh.
