KANSAS CITY, MO — It began with a crushing and historic loss in one corner of the country and ended with a humbling loss in the middle of the country. In between, there was a revealing beatdown in, somehow, yet another corner of the country and a humiliating blowout in East Lansing, the only one of the losses on home soil.
This past weekend, five of Southeastern Michigan’s eight major teams played games of varying importance, and only the Detroit Red Wings won.
So ... we’re Hockeytown again?
The Wings are just starting their season. The Detroit Tigers ' season just finished. Michigan State football may want to finish theirs. And Michigan football ? Maybe Ann Arbor is Dusty May’s town now.
Ah, but basketball begins soon enough, in Ann Arbor, and East Lansing and even Detroit. B
