As long as Blake Baker is coordinating LSU’s defense, it will always be vulnerable to quarterback runs. The Tigers play too much man coverage and send too many blitzes not to find themselves on the business end of a long scramble or two.

That conventional wisdom — which served as an explanation for at least a couple of the losses LSU suffered last season — is less true now, after a transfer-portal splurge infused the defense with more talent.
