WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- West Haven's Director of Emergency Operations, Rick Fontana, said a major concern as the nor'easter passes through the state is the slippery leaves on the city's roads.
Fontana said that as he drove through the city early Monday morning, he saw a lot of leaves becoming wet and making it like "ice."
He also mentioned there's some standing water on the roadways, advising people to avoid those areas.
"The flooding has been minimal. We do see some along the shoreline area, boat ramps, and along the shore coming up...we're probably at the 3-foot mark," he said.
If there's a downed wire on the roadway, Fonatana said residents should stay away from it.
For clogged drains, Fontana instructed people to move the leaves. He emphasized having situational awareness in t
