STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — A man arrested nearly 40 years after a brutal murder will spend the rest of his life in prison. A judge sentenced Elroy Harrison, 67, to three life sentences plus 40 years in prison in a Stafford County courtroom on Friday. A jury found Elroy Harrison guilty of second-degree murder, abduction with the intent to defile, breaking and entering with the intent to commit murder, rape or robbery and aggravated malicious wounding back in June for killing Jacqueline Lard.

According to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office, Lard was murdered while at the Mount Vernon Realty Office on Garrisonville Road in 1986.
