The second half of the 2025 Rhode Island Interscholastic League football season is underway and, after an exciting first half, one can only imagine how the last month of the regular season will play out.

There have been plenty of interesting storylines, exciting games and huge performances, but which player has been the most valuable so far this fall?

The Providence Journal has decided to find out. We’ve covered the state high school football scene unlike any other media outlet in Rhode Island ever has before and found 12 worthy nominees for the Providence Journal First Half Most Valuable Player.

What we didn’t do is name a winner. Much like our player of the week awards, we’re going to let those decisions be made by our readers.
