Kolkata/Bhubaneswar: Three days after a medical student from Odisha was allegedly assaulted near the campus in West Bengal’s Durgapur, the medical report on Monday reportedly indicated that she was raped.

Police sources said that the initial medical report further mentions that the survivor, a second-year medical student, has wounds on her private parts. The medical report also mentions massive bleeding due to the wounds. Doctors initially believed that the bleeding and wounds were caused by rape, IANS reported. ADVERTISEMENT

The survivor is now undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Durgapur.

“Initial medical report confirms rape. The student has wounds in her private part. A detailed medical examination report is awaited,” a source was quoted in the report as saying.
