NORTH BRANFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - A single-story home was completely destroyed by fire early Monday morning.

Firefighters received reports of an explosion at 108 Beech street at 1:18 a.m.

Upon arrival, the house was fully involved in flames.

Downed power lines blocked access to the property, forcing firefighting units to approach from the opposite side of the residence.

According to officials, the address is located in a dry area of the district, requiring additional resources for water supply.

The fire was brought under control at 1:57 a.m., though crews remained on scene to extinguish hot spots in the destroyed structure.

The Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the explosion.

No injuries were reported.

Crews cleared the scene at 4:09 a.m.
