CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - It’s once again sentencing day for the man who pleaded guilty for his role in a deadly 2023 shooting in Cedar Rapids.

Baynon Berry’s sentencing started last month , but was delayed until October 13.

Berry pleaded guilty to second degree murder in the killing of 16-year old Michael McCune.

On February 18, 2023, officers found McCune dead in the Tan Tara Apartments on F Avenue Northwest.

He was found with eight gunshot wounds.

Berry was supposed to be sentenced on September 29, but it was delayed by two weeks.

It will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday.

Prosecutors charged three more teenagers in connection to McCune’s murder.

Dante Irvin took a plea deal to first-degree murder as a youthful offender and will be sentenced after he turns 18 in December.
