Taiwanese electronics giant Foxconn , a key supplier for Apple , has announced a Rs 15,000 crore investment in Tamil Nadu, reinforcing the state’s position as a hub for advanced manufacturing and emerging technologies. The project, which is expected to create around 14,000 high-value jobs, will focus on next-generation areas such as battery technology and AI-led manufacturing systems.

A delegation led by Foxconn India representative Robert Wu met Chief Minister M K Stalin and Industries Minister T R B Rajaa in Chennai on Monday to formalise the commitment. Following the meeting, Rajaa took to X to describe it as the “largest ever engineering jobs commitment for Tamil Nadu,” calling on young engineers to gear up for new opportunities.
