WASHINGTON, D.C. — Tempo USA Inc. is recalling more than 46,000 Ambiano Electric Pressure Cookers sold at Aldi stores nationwide due to a severe burn hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced Thursday.

The recall was initiated following reports that a safety mechanism on the pressure cooker is failing, allowing the lid to be opened before all internal steam pressure has been safely released. This defect can cause the scalding-hot contents of the cooker to escape violently, posing a serious risk of burn injuries to consumers.

Tempo USA has received 11 incident reports related to the faulty cookers, including eight reports of severe burns.
