CONEY ISLAND, Brooklyn (PIX11) --- A 76-year-old woman was killed when she was struck by a solar panel in front of a Brooklyn home on Sunday morning, police said.
Authorities found the woman unconscious at 3100 Ocean Parkway in Coney Island at around 10:30 a.m., according to the NYPD.
The woman was rushed to the hospital but could not be saved, police said. The medical examiner will determine the cause of death. She has not been identified.
It was a windy Sunday due to the nor'easter, and the gusts hit 42 mph in Brooklyn, according to officials.
A wind advisory is in effect throughout New York and New Jersey on Monday, according to the National Weather Service. Officials warn that gusts can bring down trees and power lines, which could cause widespread outages.
