Seattle-Tacoma International Airport has decided not to show a TSA video featuring Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who blames Democrats for the ongoing government shutdown. The Port of Seattle’s choice mirrors that of Portland International Airport, which also refused to play the message.
In the video, meant to be shown to travelers at airport security checkpoints, Noem says:
“Democrats in Congress refuse to fund the federal government, and because of this, many of our operations are impacted. Our hope is that Democrats will soon recognize the importance of opening the government.”
The shutdown began on October 1 after lawmakers in the Senate failed to pass a temporary funding measure. As a result, many federal employees — including TSA agents — are working without pay.
