JACKSON, MI -- The Jackson County Animal Shelter, 3770 Spring Arbor Road, has many pets available for adoption.

Here are two of them.

Dutch is a 7-year-old Labrador Retriever and Siberian Husky mix who came in as a stray. Dutch is friendly and mellow. He did well when meeting another dog but he is a little talkative.

He checked out the cats in the cat room and just moved on. Dutch is house trained and knows some basic commands. He is not a jumper or barker.

Tort is a 5-year-old mostly black domestic shorthair cat with some brownish undertones. She came in as a stray and happily greets all of her visitors.

Tort will start up her purr motor and come to greet you. She likes attention, to be petted and of course ‘treats’

Tort does have a small cyst on her back but it does not seem to bot
