Residents across Southern Nevada can expect a significant shift in weather patterns this week as fall arrives in earnest, bringing gusty winds, unsettled conditions and a notable cool-down, the National Weather Service said this morning.

The region will experience gusty winds today and Tuesday, marking the beginning of what forecasters are calling the “first taste of fall” for 2025.

A low-pressure system tracking through the area will bring increased cloud cover and precipitation to higher elevations, while valley locations may see scattered showers, the weather service said.

Perhaps the most dramatic change will be the temperature plunge through midweek.

Forecasters predict well-below-normal temperatures by Wednesday, providing relief from what has been a prolonged warm spell.
