Complacent is a word that isn’t in Beachwood High School senior Asher Gearity’s vocabulary.

Gearity didn’t settle for anything less than mingling with the upperclassmen when he tried out for the Bison boys soccer team as a freshman – and earning a spot on the varsity.

As he stepped into a senior leadership role this season, the midfielder/forward understood that Beachwood couldn’t rely on past success, even after a playoff run that carried the Bison to the 2024 OHSAA Division IV Soccer State Tournament.
