On Monday at 7:56 a.m. the National Weather Service released a winter weather advisory in effect until 11 a.m. for North Oregon Cascades, Cascades of Marion and Linn counties and Cascades of Lane County.

The weather service states to anticipate, “Wet snow ABOVE 4000 FT IN ELEVATION. Additional snow accumulations up to one inch.”

“Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous,” explains the weather service. “Have a winter emergency driving kit readily available. Common items to include: flashlight, batteries, blankets, a shovel, water, non-perishable food items, tire chains, etc. Be aware that walking surfaces may be slick. Walk with extra care.”
