BRADENTON, Fla. ( WWSB ) - A Bradenton man accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend is asking a judge to grant a stand-your-ground defense.
Kevin Armstrong faces aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges and took the stand to argue he was defending himself.
His testimony follows the woman’s appearance in court, where she said she does not remember who shot her.
The judge is expected to rule on Armstrong’s stand-your-ground motion at 8:30 a.m. The trial is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.

Detectives say the case dates back to July, when the 33-year-old woman visited a local mobile home park to retrieve personal items. An argument broke out, according to investigators.
