Bengaluru: Bengaluru police are hunting for a man from Tamil Nadu who allegedly sent emails threatening to blow up the residences of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar.

The emails were sent from aarna.ashwinshekher@outlook.com to cm.kar@nic.in and dkshivakumar1@gmail.com at 4.23 pm on October 11.

Aarna Ashwin Shekher, the purported sender, claimed that \"four RDX devices and (several) IEDs\" had been planted in both residences and would be \"detonated remotely\".

Taking no chances, police authorities deployed the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), along with canine squads, to comb through the premises. The threats were later declared a hoax, according to police.
