One of the oldest retailers in the U.S. is planning to shutter dozens of locations by early 2026. According to Fox Business , outdoor retailer Orvis will close 31 retail stores and five outlet locations in the coming months as the company attempts to navigate ongoing struggles caused by tariffs implemented by President Donald Trump.
“Like many in retail, Orvis’ business model faced a sizeable shift with the introduction of an unprecedented tariff landscape,” said Orvis President Simon Perkins in a statement.
Perkins went on to say that closures are necessary in order for the brand to "ensure a durable brand and model for decades to come," Fox Business reports.
