AMHERST — A University of Massachusetts Amherst dropout, recently recognized by local news outlets for making close to half a million dollars through his business, is battling charges that he filmed eight women without their consent in dormitory showers last year.

Josiah Crosier, 23, of Colrain, is due back in court soon following his December 2024 arrest for allegedly taking photographs and videos of multiple fellow students while the women showered that fall. There were seven incidents at three dorms across two days in September of last year, according to court documents.

Crosier, according to Melinda Rose, spokesperson for the university, is no longer a student at UMass Amherst. While enrolled, he was studying business and entrepreneurial economics, according to his LinkedIn profile
