President Donald Trump is expected to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House this week, NBC News reported Monday.
The meeting was scheduled after the two leaders spoke twice on the phone over the weekend and discussed the possibility of the U.S . approving the transfer of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine , according to NBC.
Trump said Monday that he is considering sending Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine as "a new step of aggression" in an effort to pressure Russia to end the war against its neighbor.
Zelenskyy last met with Trump at the White House in August, shortly after the American president met with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska .
