An emerging country music star has opened up about a recent medical diagnosis.
Ashley Cooke first addressed her situation in a TikTok video, revealing to her fans that while she’s had the biggest year of her young career, she has had to deal with personal health challenges as well.
Cooke, 28, released her major label debut album, Shot in the Dark , in 2023. The album features collaborations with Colbie Caillat, Nate Smith, and Jackson Dean and its lead single, “Your Place,” hit No. 21 on country charts.
Cooke expanded on her situation in an interview with Taste of Country.
“It’s a genetic thing called Brugada syndrome,” she told the site. “A lot of my family members have passed away unexpectedly, very healthy and very young, from it. So it’s very scary.”
