A Randolph County deputy was shot Sunday afternoon in Monroe County in connection to a homicide investigation in Ralls County, according to a news release from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

According to the release, the Missouri State Highway Patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control, Randolph County deputies and Operation Relentless Pursuit Officers assisted the Monroe County Sheriff's Office in locating a person of interest in relation to a homicide that occurred early Sunday morning in Ralls County .
