IDA GROVE, Iowa (KTIV) - State law enforcement officials were in Northwest Iowa this week searching the former home of a woman who went missing over 25 years ago.

Twenty-one-year-old Connie Ruddy, a mother of two, was reported missing on Feb. 10, 1997, from her Ida Grove home.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) says her partial remains were discovered two years later, south of Ida Grove in Crawford County. She was considered a missing person until her jawbone was found by a man searching for fossils in the Boyer River.

According to the DCI, the remains found in 1999 were identified using dental records and were recently confirmed through DNA analysis.
