On Monday at 4:55 a.m. a wind advisory was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until 4 p.m. for Suffolk County.
"Northeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph this morning lowering to 15 to 25 with gusts up to 45 mph in the afternoon," can be expected according to the weather service. "If the current trend continues, this product may be cancelled before 4 p.m."
"Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result," adds the weather service. "Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects."
