The Michigan Wolverines went to Los Angeles and were thumped by USC , UCLA came east and manhandled Michigan State and, perhaps most shocking of all, Northwestern ended coach James Franklin’s career at Penn State .

But the game of the year came in the Pacific Northwest, when Indiana ran Oregon off its own track, dominating the game from start to finish for a 30-20 victory in what could be the biggest win in program history.

One year after many said IU was a fraud, the Hoosiers have solidified themselves in the College Football Playoff — baring a catastrophic collapse.
