After a 415-mile trip to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Grand Valley State overcame a slow start on offense to defeat Northern Michigan, 35-7, in front of 3,216 fans at the Superior Dome in Marquette.

The eighth-ranked Lakers punted twice and threw an interception on their first three possessions, before finally finding the end zone on a 20-yard touchdown pass from Clinton Township Chippewa Valley alum Andrew Schuster to Holt graduate Kellen Reed, which converted a fourth-and-5 play.
