CLEVELAND — Cleveland police say 10 people — most of them juveniles — were arrested Sunday after a string of vehicle break-ins and car thefts that stretched across the city.
Officers first responded around 7:30 a.m. to reports of multiple vehicle break-ins at the Hilton Garden Inn on Carnegie Avenue, where at least 24 cars were damaged. As the investigation unfolded, additional break-ins were reported near East 14th Street and Euclid Avenue and as far east as East 120th Street and Mayfield Road, police said.
Detectives from multiple districts, working with the Real Time Crime Center, identified a broader pattern and determined suspects were using at least two stolen vehicles to carry out the crimes. License plate reader cameras helped track the cars as they moved throughout the city.
