Dustin Poirier has opened up on his feelings post-UFC retirement, and his comments have left some fans concerned.

Poirier, 36, bade farewell to his beloved sport, MMA, in July after being outpointed by Max Holloway in the main event of UFC 318 .

The UFC had rewarded 'The Diamond' with a retirement fight in his home state of New Orleans, Louisiana, after a stellar 14-year run in MMA's biggest league.

Poirier had declared the fight would be his last long before he met Holloway in their trilogy bout, and despite opening the door to meeting fellow UFC legend Nate Diaz in the boxing ring, the American seemed to be at peace with his retirement.
