BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- Following its third-consecutive win over a ranked team, Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson earned SEC Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Simpson has arguably been the best player in the country after the Crimson Tide suffered a loss in Week 1 to Florida State. The redshirt junior waited his turn behind Bryce Young and Jalen Milroe, and now it is paying off as he has thrown for 1,678 yards and 16 touchdowns in six games.

In Alabama's latest win over No. 14 Missouri, Simpson came up clutch when it was needed most. Several fourth-down conversions in the fourth quarter — including a fourth-and-eight dime to freshman receiver Lotzeir Brooks and a fourth-and-goal touchdown pass to Daniel Hill proved to be the difference.
