A councillor candidate for the upcoming Montreal election has come under fire after numerous discriminatory Facebook posts that have been shared on his account have come to light.

The candidate in question is Gabriel Houle, who is running as a member of Action Montreal to be a councillor in the district of Jeanne-Mance, located in Le Plateau-Mont-Royal.

Houle’s Facebook posts have been insulting various races, and women. Some have even gone as far as making derogatory comments about George Floyd.

After this started coming to light, Houle’s candidate file was removed from the Action Montréal website.

CityNews reached out to both Houle and Action Montréal but neither have responded to requests for comment at the time of filing.
