When Alabama football offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb thinks about the Crimson Tide's right tackle slot, one word comes to mind: "consistency."

It's the biggest thing for both redshirt sophomore Wilkin Formby and freshman Michael Carroll , two players who have been battling for reps at right tackle for weeks.

Against Missouri, Formby had 47 snaps compared to Carroll's 29, per Pro Football Focus. But the freshman has received consistent work at right tackle all season despite Formby's experience in the system.

"Consistency is the biggest thing for both of them," Grubb said. "Different vantage points for both guys. But consistency, I think, is one of the biggest parts. Good offensive line play, there's no plays off. You don't get to be on the back side of a route."
