Ireland have been warned to be ready for “war” in Lansdowne Road as they face Armenia in a fight to stay in the race for a World Cup playoff place.

Heimir Hallgrímsson’s men know that only a win will do to keep alive chances of a runner-up spot and the possibility of making the playoffs, while Armenia – who beat the Boys In Green at home last month – are in the same position, knowing that a victory in Dublin would retain their hopes of qualification for a major finals for the first time.
