The Savannah Bananas are one of the most popular teams in America, and as part of a new venture, they’re bringing back one of their most legendary predecessors.
As part of their new Banana Ball Championship League, which will feature six teams playing 60 games apiece in 2026, the Bananas have partnered with the Negro League Museum in Kansas City to bring back the Indianapolis Clowns, one of the most famous barnstorming baseball clubs ever.
The Clowns were the last Negro Leagues team to officially disband, but before they did they were the pioneers of entertainment-based barnstorming baseball, traveling the country and visiting all manner of cities in a similar style to that of the Harlem Globetrotters.
