A recent New York Times report indicated Zodiac signs may be "out of date" and "your sign might not be what you think."
But what's the reasoning behind it?
"So the science behind it is actually really well known and has been well known for almost as long as people have been doing astrology," Dr. Katie Boyce-Jacino, curator and director of collections for the Adler Planetarium, told NBC Chicago. "We have records of people talking about the shift in the position of the Earth as early as the Greeks and Romans."
According to Boyce-Jacino, standard astrology, also known as tropical astrology, uses a calendar that begins on the first day of the spring equinox.
