East Lansing — Michigan State will face its toughest opponent of the season this Saturday at Indiana, and it might do so without its starting quarterback.

Michigan State coach Jonathan Smith said Chiles will be evaluated at the end of the week to see if he can play against the third-ranked Hoosiers. Chiles left Michigan State’s 38-13 loss to UCLA in the third quarter after taking a hard hit on a scramble.
