KINGSTON, N.Y. — The Catskill Mountain Railroad’s Pumpkin Express trains will open a two-weekend run on Saturday, Oct. 18

Passengers will take a train ride up to the Pumpkin Patch, where pumpkins will be spread out for everyone to pick one and take it home to decorate, an announcement said.

The train will journey along the former Ulster and Delaware Corridor, offering views of the area’s natural beauty from the railroad’s unique perspective, the announcement said, adding that passengers will travel through some of the oldest farmlands in the area, as the train crosses the Esopus Creek on the restored C9 Bridge and goes through the Hurley Flats into the Hurley Mountain foothills.
