Sopore, Oct 13: The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Jammu and Kashmir branch office organised an awareness programme on hallmarking of gold and silver jewellery in collaboration with the Gold and Silver Association Sopore, which is affiliated with the All J&K Gold Dealers and Workers Association, Srinagar.

The event, held in Sopore town, witnessed active participation from a large number of gold and silver dealers, jewellers, and artisans from across the town. The main objective of the programme was to educate traders and customers about the importance of hallmarking, BIS certification, and the legal standards that ensure the purity and authenticity of precious metals.
