Boston University is arguing against a proposed plan from Trump’s administration to shorten international students’ time on campus.
In August, the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement proposed a new rule that would set a fixed admission period of up to four years for visa holders with F-1 and J-1 status. The grace time period for return will be also be shortened from 60 days to 30. Small extensions would be granted by United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) officers on special occasions.
