A Stillwater teen hopes to share her message after being hit by a car on a motorized scooter, she told News 9 last week.

The accident happened in downtown Stillwater on Saturday, Oct. 4.

Summer Sitterly is thankfully out of the hospital and doing a lot better after the accident, her loved ones shared on Facebook.

“I was kind of bored at home; going outside to do something out of the house,” said 19-year-old Summer Sitterly, who decided to go geocaching on her motorized scooter at Krayler and N Perkins.

She said she remembers that she was geocaching, but doesn’t remember getting hit by a car.

"All I remember was me blacking out then waking up on the street to a lot of people around me making sure I was okay."

Sitterly had to get five stitches, injuring her head, knee and feet.
