A man took a woman hostage Monday at an Osceola County motel, prompting deputies and SWAT team members to set up a perimeter around the building and call in negotiators, police said .

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said it received a call just before noon about a domestic situation at The Heritage Park Inn on East Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway. Two men, including the suspect, got into a physical fight in a motel room. The suspect threatened to harm the other man, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

When the other man left the room, the suspect took a woman hostage. The relationship between the suspect and the woman is currently unknown, the release said.
