Republican John Knapp, a longtime law enforcement officer, is announcing his candidacy for District 65 of the Alabama House of Representatives.
Knapp has served in the public as a conservation officer, a state trooper, and deputy for both Washington and Clarke Counties. He is also a member of the Alabama Cattleman's Association.
In announcing his intention to run, Knapp noted that his "23 years of public service to his local community has well prepared him to serve his community as a House representative."
"Through his career in law enforcement he has had the opportunity to not only directly combat crime in the district, but he has also helped secure jobs, provide necessary services to those battling drug addiction, assist members of the community dealing with severe mental health issue
