BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – On Monday, the Western Kentucky University’s Literacy Ambassadors kicked off their second annual book fair in which all proceeds go to help local children in book deserts.

A book desert is an area where books aren’t easily accessible and are hard to come by. This can be a problem in Warren County, which is why the organization is raising money to provide local kids with books.

Along with the book fair, the WKU Literacy Ambassadors are also asking for donations. Any gently used books could also be donated to help aid with the book desert issue.

Their main goal is to provide local kids with enough books to read, something they try and do regularly.
