“Drake Maye” and “MVP” have started to get mentioned in the same sentence amid a stellar stretch from the New England Patriots quarterback.

Maye continued his breakout second season by registering 261 passing yards and three touchdowns in Sunday’s 25-19 win over the New Orleans Saints. He became just the fourth quarterback in NFL history to notch 200 passing yards and a quarterback rating over 100 in five straight games at age 23 or younger.

As he continues to climb NFL leaderboards, Maye is drawing more recognition in the MVP conversation . However, Maye downplayed that discussion during Monday’s interview on “WEEI Afternoons.”

“Oh shoot. Nah, I’ve got a lot of work to do,” Maye said. “I think that’s a long way away. Getting some more wins is what I’m focused on.”
