CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — New details have been released surrounding a settlement in a medical malpractice lawsuit against Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital.

A press conference was held on Monday morning, where family members of Ma'Nyla Grace Conley shared their experience regarding the hospital's alleged cover-up.

On April 29, 2022, Ma'Nyla was born prematurely at the hospital on Blythe Blvd in Charlotte. The family claims that the child suffered severe injuries as a result of the hospital's negligence. They say the hospital staff lied to the family instead of taking responsibility.

Attorneys for the family say Atrium Health offered them $5.5 million settlement in the case, but they believe the amount is "concerning" for multiple reasons.
